Google Caffeine Results – Live or Not?

Last year 2009 there was a lot of discussion going around regarding Google’s new and update search engine Caffeine. Many webmasters said it is live and many said it is yet to be live. But the fact is in August, 09 it was made live for public preview. In early November there were folks that it had gone live while Matt Cutts refused to it and declared that it won’t go live until after holidays and it did not go live in late November in any of Google Data Center.

Now, when the holiday season is also over the question arises here is Did Google make it live from last 2-3 days? There can be lots of threads found again in news talking about major changes in rankings. But only few threads describes that its Caffeine related. According to some Digitalpoint forum and Webmasterworld Forum threads it has gone live with following Google Data centers:

* 209.85.225.103

* 74.125.95.132

* 66.102.7.18

* 64.233.163.19

* 74.125.19.106

* 66.102.7.104

Now for final results we all have to wait. The confirmation that as to come from Google itself showing that the above change is true or not.

One thing that we all know about Caffeine is that it is going to be useful and updated mainly for developers and minutely for webmasters.

What if page becomes a ranking factor?

Wish You A Very Happy New Year to all my Readers !!!

Today I was going through an article in Webpronews titled “Things to Remember if Page Speed is to Become a Ranking Factor (http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/12/14/things-to-consider-if-page-speed-is-to-become-a-ranking-factor)”. I was wondering that all search engine algos will get changed if this happens.

According to a Webpronews interview with Matt Cutts it has been popped out that in coming days Page speed can affect the search engine (especially Google’s) rankings.

But the point here to consider is how its impact will be. The conclusion we have comeup after reading several comments and posts is that somewhat its positive and somewhat its negative.

If your hosting is good enough to fight with the growing traffic then you may not be losing rankings but then what about those sites that are not hosting on a good server? Well, then the effect can be negative. Unlike Webpronews my question here is then those webmasters who cannot afford the expensive hosting can be dumped in Google rankings. Then what will happen with the site quality. Google has always forced the webmasters to maintain the site quality. It seems like now Google is taking page speed higher than the quality.

Many people are oppose to this Google’s update. Because if we consider page speed a ranking factor then all the other things will go back. In today’s world when people like to see a good and attractive website may include flash, images and scripts. These all things make page heavy and huge.

Beside if the person has posted any URL with his post then you will also see the corresponding URL title linked in the result.

Google has also pretended that the real time search gives the organized and spam filtered streamed data so there is no possibility of spam results. This all can be a part of Google’s latest search engine called “Caffeine”.
